I-RiS Feeding Frenzy Jersey

€109, Shop I-RiS

After her retirement in 2016, Dutch pro Iris Slappendel took her twelve years of pro cycling experience and put it into creating her eponymous cycling clothing brand (alongside running women’s professional cycling union, The Cyclist’s Alliance).

The IRIS brand name is also an acronym of ‘I ride in style’ and Slappendel’s design degree comes to the fore with her bold prints and colours which come in limited runs. The Signature bib shorts are no exception to the style mantra of the brand and come in various colours offering a clean, flattering cut, but they also offer some savvy technical aspects too.

The recently launched new collection is based on ride snacks and the designs look pretty tasty.

Velocio Signature Jersey

€154, Shop Velocio

Colour blocking and clean aesthetics are a la mode in cycling apparel at the moment, and the Velocio Signature jersey looks especially *fire emoji* when paired with the shorts of the same colour. If you’re not into that, however, then it looks just as good on its own.

The brand describes it as their most “refined and versatile” jersey, it offers UPF30 sun protection, anti-sag pockets and size-specific patterning to make sure each size fits different body types properly. Impressively, sizing ranges from XXS to XXXL making it inclusive for all types of rider. Extra bonus points for being made with recycled fabric.

Le Col Hors Categorie Jersey

£150, Shop Le Col

While the Hors Categorie jersey can’t promise you the legs to take on the eponymous climb category, it can promise comfort and style while you try.

Le Col’s Hors Categorie range is informed by feedback from pro teams, formerly Bahrain McClaren and now as title sponsors of the Drops-Le Col women’s Continental team.

The jersey comprises smooth, four way stretch polyamide material to ensure a comfortable fit. Extra style points come in the form of the embossed logo and a nice practical addition is a waterproof pocket at the rear so you don’t get a soggy phone in a summer shower.

ashmei Women's Signature Merino jersey

£126, Shop ashmei

When it comes to wool, ashmei proves that it can remain an essential material in all types of cycling kit. Merino wool is a sustainable, natural material that forms a core part of ashmei’s brand identity. A bit of a wonder fabric, it’s antibacterial, non-itchy and it performs well in both the cold and hot weather.

The material of ashmei’s Signature jersey is a mix of both Merino wool and carbon, a unique combination which converts sweat into vapour faster than other fabrics. Alongside this, it’s anti-odour, has excellent wicking abilities, and has UPF 50+ sun protection, ideal for hard efforts in the heat. ashmei’s focus on technical material certainly doesn’t detract from the overall look of the jersey, the sky blue colour is a perfect option for summer days and additional features like the enlarged zipper and pump pocket ensure the jersey’s practicality too.

Rapha Pro Team Jersey

£120, Shop Rapha

Another one for the minimalists, Rapha’s Pro Team jersey is the brand’s mjd-range summer offering and is designed to be versatile. Rapha uses multiple materials throughout the jersey in a unique panel structure, including UPF40 protection in the back panel and highly breathable and moisture-wicking material around the waist and pockets.

Design-wise the jersey is mostly a single colour, with the front panel completely clear of branding, the band on the arm featuring the logo looks clean and stylish.

Dhb Moda Short Sleeve jersey Terrazzo

£37.50, Shop Dhb

Gear change now for the Dhb Moda Terrazzo jersey. Dhb is a great brand when it comes to value for money, whether you’re someone who likes to change it up every ride without breaking the bank or you don’t want to take out a mortgage for a cycling jersey, this is a great option.

Cafe du Cycliste Women’s Mona White Classic Jersey

£155, Shop Cafe du Cycliste

Grab your baguettes because this jersey oozes classic French style. From the Côte d'Azur and featuring Breton stripes.

It’s not just a pretty face, however. The Mona is part of Cafe du Cycliste’s Audax collection which, as the name suggests, is designed for longer days in the saddle. As such, it includes larger pockets so you can load up on the important stuff aka snacks, as well as a reflective panel for safety.

Gobik Stark Short Sleeve Jersey in Maldives

€75, Shop Gobik

If anyone knows about summer jerseys it's a Spanish brand, right? Based in Murcia, the brand specialise in both custom and off-the-peg items.

The pro peloton seem to have gone off colour-fade jerseys this year, but this one is keeping the trend going strong. If you hate the super-short sleeves on some women's jerseys then this also features nice, long ones: good for style and comfort but not so great for tan lines.
