Miss Dangerholm’s stunning pink rebuilt SCOTT Contessa Addict Gravel

Pernilla Eriksson aka Miss Dangerholm designed and built her Contessa Addict Gravel with an aim to encourage and inspire more women to go for their dream build

Gustav Gullholm (also known as Dangerholm) has risen to worldwide fame in the cycling world with his jaw-dropping lightweight custom builds. Last year, the Norweigan’s rebuilt Scott Addict Gravel bike turned heads all over the globe. It was described by many as ‘a work of art’ and weighed in at an incredible 7.13 kilograms for the entire bike. Gullholm’s method to achieve this feather light weight is taking a knife and sandpaper to the original bike to remove its lacquer and transfers, then he sources a host of exotic parts, including some prototype components.

This year, Gullholm’s partner, Pernilla Eriksson, was in the market for a new gravel bike and Dangerholm encouraged her to go fully custom and create her dream bike. “One thing I’ve noticed over the years though is that this seems to be a bit more common among men. There are many passionate as well as fast female riders out there but compared to men, surprisingly many seem to settle for a bike that’s ”good enough” - not the bike they dream of,” Gullholm explains.

Eriksson, a hairdresser and an engineer by trade, dived head first into creating her custom build, designing, removing the original paint work and assembling the bike herself. The result is jaw-dropping: a stunning metallic pink bike with shimmers of green, purple and gold against gloss carbon fibre which weighs in at just 7.49 kilograms (including pedals). One-off CeramicSpeed OSPW pulley wheels compliment the frame perfectly, while the Pi Rope wheels with on Syncros Capital 1.0 X40 rims and feature Vectran fibre rope spokes are custom dyed in pink.

“I want to encourage others to go for it. It doesn't matter if it's getting your new stock dream bike from your local bike shop, going full custom like this or just getting some small but nice little upgrade for your old trusty training bike” Eriksson explains. “Having a bike that evokes some feelings, that makes you happy when you look at it, is something that simply can bring even more joy into your cycling life.

“I also really enjoyed building the bike and getting more into the tech side of things, like learning more about how various components will affect the performance of your bike. Maybe it can seem boring at first if you don't really care, or even a little intimidating if you're a beginner, but it's great to know more about your bike and what maybe can make it even better. In the long run it can help you become a faster rider.”
