A round table discussion between women at the top of their respective games in the cycling world

Former world champion Lizzie Deignan took maternity leave to bring baby Orla into the world, then returned to racing strong as ever. Reactions to her pregnancy were both shocking and disappointing. Also, she really was given a men’s watch for winning a race. We’re not kidding... If you’re wondering why Lizzie is sat outside in the dark, it’s because little Orla was asleep – bless!

Fran Millar was, until recently moving on to clothing company Belstaff, CEO at Team Ineos, making her one of the most powerful women in pro cycling. She pushed for a women’s Team Sky to no avail.

Monica Santini heads the eponymous clothing brand alongside her sister Paola. The renowned Italian company has gone from strength to strength in recent years since its foundation in 1965 by her father Pietro Santini.

Your host is journalist, Eurosport presenter and Rouleur columnist Orla Chennaoui, who is guest editor for our very special issue 102 – an all-star, all-women edition of Rouleur.

Does being a woman in this industry have its advantages? Do women make better workmates in such a male-dominated sport? And are there improvements afoot to right the imbalances? All this and more from four fascinating female perspectives.
