At the end of every season the stars of the Tour de France head east for exhibition races and some slightly embarrassing photo shoots. We've yet to have tired of the idea
It’s that time of year again. You know, when the Eurocentric peloton is shipped-off to Asia ostensibly to ride criteriums but really to pose for photos while partaking in martial arts demos.
Organised by Tour de France promoters ASO, the events in Shanghai, China and Saitama, Japan saw Chris Froome swap his yellow jersey for a yellow ninja outfit and Warren Barguil do his best play-acting since that stage of the Vuelta where he didn’t ride in his team’s best interests.
