Milk Race 1966: missing, believe wiped

Glorious 16mm colour film from the former Tour of Britain in the Welsh mountains

Steven Green unearthed lost footage of the 1966 Milk Race to produce this lovely short film shot as the race passed through the mountains of north Wales.

The 16mm footage, taken by film maker Renato Spinetti, had spent 50 years tucked away in someone’s attic. It’s a remarkable artefact of a golden era, with voiceovers from Milk Race riders of the time, former British champion Les West and Welsh champion Roger Pratt.
