Gallery: the recurring problem of Paris-Nice’s nickname

We probably don’t need to say it. Every time the Race to the Sun chances across the slightest bit of inclement weather, observers just cannot help pointing out the contradiction in Paris-Nice’s nickname.  

Us too. But what else can you say when a set of photos from the last three days of Paris-Nice drop in. We were hoping for delightful curving roads in the Alpes-Maritimes, Cote d’Azur chic and that eponymous March sunshine.

But if the weather wasn’t going to play ball, photographer Chris Auld just had to run with it. Yep, the closing stages of Paris-Nice was all umbrellas, gritty faces and mist shrouded mountains.
