Rapha unveils new Legion kit

L39ION of Los Angeles' latest kit has landed, and it is everything we would have expected from cycling's new favourite team

L39ION of Los Angeles' new Rapha team kit has just been unveiled, capturing the alternative and disruptive force of the team in what Rapha describes as a "crashing wave design with a surge of volcanic energy."

The team, which predominantly races on the US crit scene but has become a UCI Pro Continental team this year, already showcased the kit at the Tulsa Tough, where the team took a clean sweep in the men's and women's races.

L39ION founder Justin Williams said: "Your uniform is what you go to battle in, what we crash and fight for, what we stand on the podium with and what makes us feel pride in what we are doing. When I put this kit on it means that I've made something of myself and I'm paving the way for others to have a chance at doing the same.”

Central to the new collection is a new Pro Team Aero jersey, for both men and women, complimented by a set of Pro Team bib shorts, alongside branded accessories such as caps, socks, snoods and bidons.

Alongside the race kit, though, we'll also be treated to a yet-unseen men's and women's Pro Team Training Jersey.

The women's team, dubbed the L39ION Lionesses, was launched earlier this year. They spoke to Rouleur about their goals for the season ahead and since then, team member Kendall Ryan took victory at the US Pro Road Championships two weeks ago.

"Every time I put on the L39ION kit I think of all of the thought that went into not only the colours and design but also the fit, and the many people behind it," says Skylar Schneider, L39ION rider and former US National Junior Road Race Champion. "So when I put on the L39ION kit, I always feel proud and empowered to do my best because it makes me feel my best, and also, I know that it looks the best."

The Legion of Los Angeles 2021 kit is available from Thursday 1st July at rapha.cc.
