Roglič finished the 2021 Vuelta a España exactly as he'd raced it – decisively and in style with an astounding time trial stage win. The positions behind him didn't see much change, only the margin increased from Roglič's emphatic win. There was a mild shake-up in the top 10 as David de la Cruz jumped two positions to 7th place, but aside from that, the final time trial failed to generate an upset to the GC.
