The Six Day Virtual Racing Series Returns

Track racing gets a new look with Six Day's new virtual format

The Six Day Racing series is back, with a virtual format breathing new life into the legendary track races.

Following a series of virtual races over the three weekends of February 2021, Six Day is kicking off another round of racing this weekend (12-14th March). It will be available to watch on the Six Day Cycling Facebook page

The Six Day series has long since been a rare fusion of track cycling, WorldTour riders and a celebration of cycling culture, with roots of the London event tracing back to 1923.

"We’ve transformed Six Day from what it used to be in the velodrome – adding music and an amazing atmosphere alongside modernised condensed racing," says Six Day CEO James Durbin. "This is our next evolution with Six Day, we’re taking it virtual.

"For us, this is the continuation the modernisation of track racing that Six Day is all about."

This weekend's event is Elite Men only, with women's and sprinter's races set to come later in the month.

A talented bunch of riders are participating from six different countries, and including a track World Champion. See some of the participants below:

  • Denis Rugovac (Czech Republic)
  • Marc Hester (Denmark)
  • Kenny De Ketele (Belgium)
  • Matthew Bostock (Great Britain)
  • Wojciech Pszczolarski (Poland)
  • Nico Selenati

Starting on Friday 12th March, the racing will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 15:00 GMT. Tune in to watch the riders battle it out on the virtual velodrome. Each programme will feature four races consisting of a mixture of disciplines and categories - there's something for everyone.

Predictor Game

Adding to the fun, the brand new Predictor game has been added to the Six Day Website.

Predict the winners of each race before watching the action unfold on Facebook. As races take place, see how you stack up on the leaderboards. Like many other fantasy games, you are able to create private leagues, so invite your friends and family and see who can rise to the top.

The overall winner will win two hospitality tickets to a Six Day event of their choice!
