Desire: Santini’s Got You Covered

Desire: Santini’s Got You Covered

With a rich history, dedication to garment technology and a family-owned factory, Santini know a thing or two about clothing.

Santini’s Vega range sits at the top of the tree – the pinnacle of garment technology. Developed alongside World Tour team, Trek Segafredo, Santini says the range really cut its teeth in 2018 when it protected riders at that year’s – frankly brutal – Milan-Sanremo. Their fellow Italians, Polartec, employ Santini’s weather-defying expertise to create a range of garments which are fit for even a UK winter. As the adage says, there is no such thing as bad weather…

For the first issue of Desire this year, we got our hands on a full set of Vega, consisting of the piece de resistance jacket, paired with the bib tights, all in a fetching shade of ninja-black with a side of lovely reflective orange. In typical Desire fashion, we had stunning weather, but the thermal properties came in handy just after Christmas.

Polartec’s water and wind-resistant membrane is a revolution. A dash of contrast with S3s from 100%
Merino socks and Mavic’s Cosmic shoes keep the feet balmy.
