Nine days. Two coastlines. One of the world's great cycling events. Beginning in George, we ride six days of world-class gravel tracks through the Garden Route (gravel bikes included), before the road opens up for two days of coastal riding into Cape Town and a place on the start line of the iconic Cape Town Cycle Tour. Gravel and road, back to back, in one of the most beautiful corners of the world.

This unique cycling experience takes you through mountain passes, remote valleys, and rolling farmland across South Africa’s Western Cape. Ride point-to-point on quiet gravel roads by day, recover in hand-picked accommodation each evening, and arrive in Cape Town ready to take on one of the most iconic closed-road cycling events in the world.

Over six consecutive days, you’ll ride approximately 595 km across mixed terrain, with daily routes featuring 45–66% gravel and more than 8,700 metres of total climbing.

Each stage ends in a new overnight destination — including Oudtshoorn, Van Wyksdorp, Riversdale, Swellendam, McGregor, and Franschhoek — allowing you to experience the diverse landscapes and hospitality of the Western Cape as the route progresses toward Cape Town.

Following a rest day in the city, you’ll take part in the Cape Town Cycle Tour: a fully closed-road 109 km route around the Cape Peninsula and the perfect finale to an unforgettable week on the bike.

Iconic Mountain Passes on the Route:

  • Montagu Pass – A historic gravel climb through the Outeniqua Mountains, winding from the lush Garden Route into the remote landscapes of the Klein Karoo
  • Garcia Pass – A long, scenic ascent through rolling farmland and open valleys in the heart of the Overberg
  • Franschhoek Pass – A spectacular mountain climb featuring sweeping switchbacks and panoramic views over the Cape Winelands
