Ten things we’re looking forward to at the Rouleur Classic 2019

Ten things we’re looking forward to at the Rouleur Classic 2019

The Rouleur Classic 2019 is just one month away. Here’s ten (or so) of the attractions we’re most looking forward to catching at this year’s show

The Rouleur Classic 2019 is the fifth edition of the world’s finest cycling show. It’s also gearing up to be the best edition yet. As well as superstar names in conversation, there’ll be exhibits by all of the biggest brands and vintage memorabilia that you won’t find anywhere else.

From the theatre to the halls, here are ten things you won’t want to miss.

Greg LeMond

“Innovator, trailblazer, the man who introduced a nation to bike racing and transformed the peloton singlehandedly.” Not to mention triple Tour winner and double World Champion. We’re beyond excited to welcome Greg LeMond (and Kathy too, of course) to the Rouleur Classic for the first time.

The innovators

Every day of the Rouleur Classic, we’re going to shine a spotlight on the revolutionaries dedicated to making us all that little bit  faster. We have lined up the great minds behind the sport for in-depth discussions on cycling technology.

Behind the scenes of Rouleur magazine

Hear from the editors, Andy McGrath and Ian Cleverly, about where the ideas come from and what it takes to create eight issues of the world’s finest cycling magazine each year. Featuring audience Q&A.

Bradley Wiggins and Sean Yates in conversation

“The first poster on my wall was this guy.” Before Bradley Wiggins was a star of track and road he was a superfan. In November he will be on stage with the man who was, in one form or another, with him throughout his career.

Trek-Segafredo 2020

On Thursday, Trek-Segafredo will launch their 2020 kit, produced by Santini, for both their men’s and women’s WorldTour teams. The new jerseys will be presented by team riders Lizzie Deignan and Italian star Giulio Ciccone.

The Cycling Hall of Fame

You’ve been voting all year long. Who will join Eddy Merckx, Beryl Burton and Ernesto Colnago in the Cycling Hall of Fame? The only place to find out is the opening night of Rouleur Classic. Buy Thursday tickets.

Bespoke boutique

A showcase of the artisans creating some of the most beautiful objects in cycling. It takes years to develop the skill and expertise to produce these one-off works, it’s a true craft, practised on everything from frames to jockey wheels.

Beautiful frames and the rise of the custom paint scheme

Panaracer Gravel Galley

In the last few years even the pro peloton regularly ventures off-road. With the help of the experts in gravel grip, Panaracer, we’ve put together a world-beating collection of gravel bicycles, bringing the great outdoors to the heart of London.

Objects of Desire

The most beautiful bicycles, apparel and accessories curated in one place. From archive treasures to brand new releases and custom painted head-turners, this is bike porn at its classiest – the objects of our desire that get pulses racing.

Free beer! And gift bag worth over £50

On our opening night, you’ll enjoy free beer (from our partner BrewDog) and wine all night (from our partner Halewood), plus you’ll be given a gift bag containing a book on our star guest, Greg LeMond and many more top treats.

British Cycling

Life as a young pro and how to make it – on Saturday, when U16s can enter for free, we welcome Tom Stanton, British Cycling’s Performance Pathway Manager who will be talking through the famed academy that has produced so many top talents.

Belgian treasures

The KOERS Museum in Roeselare is lending us some of its vast collection of cycling artefacts such as Tom Boonen’s yellow jersey from the 2006 Tour de France. It’s a real treat to see these historic items in central London.

The biggest brands in the business

Around the Rouleur office we often describe the Rouleur Classic as being “like a party in the world’s best bike shop, staffed by the world’s greatest riders and bike gurus.” You’ll find an Aladdin’s cave of premium cycling brands showing off all their lustworthy wares that you simply will not see anywhere else.
