As the nights draw in we are delighted to announce a very limited, very special offer. We have twenty-eight copies of Herbie Sykes’ “Maglia Rosa” available to buy with Sykes’ seminal Franco Balmamion biography, “The Eagle of the Canavese”. And much more besides…

We took the liberty of having the books express delivered to Turin, whereupon the author hand delivered them to Balmamion, the Eagle himself. Franco and Herbie each signed each book, whereupon the great man (Balmamion that is, not Sykes) disappeared into his basement. Five minutes later, to Herbie’s amazement, he returned with a handful of stunning memorabilia from the second golden age of Italian cycling.

There are two iconic 1967 publicity cards, issued by Franco’s mythical Molteni team. In the first he wears the Maglia Tricolore, the Italian National Champions jersey, whilst the other is a splendid team line up with the likes of Gianni Motta and Rudi Altig. Both are beautiful, and both are impossible to buy; two extraordinary pieces of Italian cycling history memorabilia from one of the greatest teams in history.
